In order to maintain enthusiasm and effectiveness professionally:

6) I recognize and have come to terms with the limitations inherent in my role and focus on the positive impact my work can have on children, families and the community.

In order to meet my own needs as an individual:

1) I value and protect my own physical health, ensuring that I have adequate sleep, proper nutrition, fresh air, exercise and regular physical and dental check-ups.

2) I value and protect my emotional well-being, ensuring I spend time with friends and family, engage in enjoyable hobbies and interests and have adequate time for relaxation.

3) I manage my time efficiently, accomplishing the “must do’s” but saving some time for the “want to do’s”.

4) I have learned to say no, and do not respond to requests that are unrealistic, unreasonable or will demand too much of my time.

5) I have realistic expectations of myself and others.
