In order to engage in ethical practice:

1) I am familiar with the provincial and/or national Code of Ethics and use same to guide my practice.

2) I appreciate and celebrate, every person, adult and child, as a unique individual.

3) I keep confidential all personal information about children and families sharing such information only with the family’s consent or when obliged to by legislation or court order.

4) I am reliable, trustworthy and honest in my relationships with others.

4) I accept responsibility for my actions and mistakes.

5) I belong to, and participate actively in, a child care association or organization.

6) I demonstrate pride in my work.

7) I take responsibility for my own professional development, accessing appropriate resources, training, advice and expertise.

8) I demonstrate respect and appreciation for the work of others involved with the care of children in all settings.
