Cross Canada Check-Up

It's important to keep up with what’s happening in child care in your province or territory and at the national level. The Internet can help you do this very effectively.
The first item in the list that follows is the provincial/territorial community or social services main page. The second site is the specific page for child care departments, units or branches. Third and additional sites listed are community and advocacy organizations.

National Children’s Agenda
The National Children’s Agenda is a cross-Canada government and community effort to examine ways to best meet identified needs of Canadian children. In May,1999 the federal government released a document entitled “Developing a Shared Vision” for public consultation. This bilingual site should provide updates to the initiative and report results of the consultation. The National Children’s Agenda is a project under the larger Social Union initiative, the federal government’s restructuring of Canada’s social policies and programs. For information on the Social Union, see http://socialunion.gc.ca
