New Program! Family and Child Care Resources
A message from Anne Grewar, Child Care Resources Coordinator, Family and Child Care Resources

The Family Centre in Winnipeg, has been providing comprehensive family support and child care to families and children with special needs since 1965.

Through the years, thousands of children and families have benefited from the care offered by a very special group of hand-picked and highly-skilled special needs family child care providers. However, in light of the many societal changes that have come about since The Family Centre’s beginnings, we decided recently to reconfigure our service delivery model.

After a year of discussions with Manitoba Child Day Care, we are extending our services to families receiving care from provincial family child care providers in order to combine the strengths and resources of both systems for maximum benefit and efficiency.

The new program name is Family and Child Care Resources. We will focus our energies on providing comprehensive family support services to families with diverse needs who are enrolled in or attempting to access any licensed child care facility. We will also provide support, education and consultation to child care providers who are working with these families.
